Sizing Up Sample Sizes

I’ve noticed throughout my career that one of the most common points where projects get stuck is deciding on sample size.   I’m often asked things like, “is this N size enough?” or “what difference would it make if we increased or decreased it?”    So I wanted to share a few thoughts on when a larger sample is necessary and when its truly just not as meaningful as you’d think.   There isn’t a single “right” choice, only the right choice for your objectives. Do you agree? Let me know what you think!
